Waiting in a World of “Go!”

When we feel urged to burn ourselves out by constantly doing one thing and then another, the decision to wait, rest, and slow down, can feel indulgent. And yet Advent, the weeks preceding Christmas in which Christians turn toward waiting with intention for the birth of Jesus, teaches us that waiting itself can be a fruitful and holy season.
