In much of western religious thought, the concept of hell in the afterlife was used to encourage moral living right now. Believers were told to “act right, or else …”
Our faith doesn’t hold a belief in an afterlife of eternal damnation, which means that our “or else” must be different. What is the “or else,” of modern Unitarian Universalism? What encourages moral living in our faith?
Rev. Bill offers a special “thank you” to Herb Foster and Kate Foster for creating this idea during a Sunday morning conversation.
