As our denomination considers adding an eighth principle to our current list of seven – one that addresses dismantling racism and other oppressions within ourselves and UU institutions – it’s a good time to reflect on what the principles are, what they intend to do, and how they’re centered in a theology of covenant. Are we a faith of principles, covenant, neither, or both?
