Telling stories about ourselves has always been a way that humans create and shape their Beloved Communities. For many centuries, LGBTAQIA+ stories have been left out, or actively suppressed. But the queer narrative of love and belonging will not be denied. Looking at the news of the last few decades shows us how important finding stories of others like you is to trans youth, gay youth, queer youth of all kinds. School librarian Martha Hickson will speak about her work developing her collection to support queer youth, and fighting against those who would actively suppress queer voices by banning books.
