Fighting for Peace – LIVE ON ZOOM

The paths of peace are plentiful, winding, and sometimes contradictory. For some, the path toward peace might include a kind of violence that can prevent greater harm. For others, a path toward peace can only be traveled in complete peace. Knowing that peace is our common dream, how can we journey together, even on different paths, toward its realization? This service will include a Memorial Day remembrance.

Welcome, Rev. Bill Neely
Prelude,  Better Than I, by John Bucchino, sung by Mark Boone
Chalice Lighting, Margie Herman
Unison Affirmation
We light this chalice to celebrate Unitarian Universalism.
This is a congregation of open minds,
Of helping hands.
And of loving hearts.
Together we care for our earth
And work for friendship and peace in the world.

Hymn 123, Spirit of Life

Spirit of Life, come unto me.
Sing in my heart all the stirrings of compassion.
Blow in the wind, rise in the sea;
Move in the hand, giving life the shape of justice,
Roots hold me close, wings set me free;
Spirit of Life, come to me, come to me.
Words and music by Carolyn McDade, 1935 –

Story for All Ages, Rev. Jennifer Kelleher
