Rental Terms and Fees

Rental Terms
- Mission Compatibility: Our spaces are available for rental to groups whose messages and principles do not conflict with our congregation’s Mission (In our open, welcoming community, we live our message of hope, love, justice, and joy), or our broader Unitarian Universalist values (visit UUA.org for more information).
- Proof of Liability: We reserve the right to require proof of liability insurance depending on certain factors relating to the nature of your event.
- Minimum facility use: The minimum facility use is 2 hours, whether or not the full two hours are used. No Partial hours.
- Sundays: No rentals before 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.
- Alcohol: alcohol enjoyed for social reasons must be served by a caterer or business that is licensed to do so. Name, contact information for the caterer/business, and proof of alcohol permit/ insurance certificate must be provided at minimum 1 month before your event.
- Deposits: See payment and deposit info in the next section.
Payment & Deposits
A $100 Deposit will be assessed to all facility users.
- This deposit is payable immediately upon receiving a written Facility Use Agreement from our office.
- This Deposit will be refunded in full should the event be canceled outside of the six-week calendar period before the event.
- This Deposit will not be refunded should the event be canceled by the facility user inside the six-week calendar period preceding the event.
- The original check will be shredded if the premises are left in good condition, as assessed by a staff member.
The balance of all fees is payable in full no later than 14 calendar days before the event, and no earlier than 30 days before the event.
Other Property Use Terms and Details
Kitchen
- Kitchen (Full) includes the use of a dishwasher, oven(s), stove, and refrigerator. Use of the dishwasher will require a licensed caterer or the hiring of our Sexton.
- Kitchen (Light) includes counter use, refrigerator use, and use of coffee maker only (facility users must supply their own coffee, cups, spoons, sugar, creamer, etc.)
- Please Note: We do not rent our kitchen for stand-alone events (such as cooking classes). However, our kitchen can be added, for a fee, to support memorial service receptions, wedding receptions, or similar events.
Pianos
- Use of Steinway piano in Channing Hall – $85 additional (except for weddings, memorial services, and child dedication services).
- Regarding requests for tuning of our Prized Steinway Piano: Regular maintenance is provided. Any additional tuning requests are the renter’s financial responsibility. Our designated tuner must be used and coordinated with our rental schedule. Payment is direct to the tuner.
Audio/Visual
- Use of the sound system, but not the live streaming and camera system, in Channing Hall is included in the facility use fee for Channing Hall
- The use of the projection System in Fahs Theater is included in the facility use fee
Seating
- Use of tables and chairs is included in the facility use fee.
- There are 144 parking spaces in our three lots and 6 handicap spaces.
- Number of 6′ x 30″ folding tables for use: 44
- Number of 5′ x 30″ folding tables for use: 5
- Number of upholstered chairs in Channing Hall: 200
- Number of additional folding chairs for use: 132
Accessibility
- Our main spaces and classrooms are fully accessible, with an elevator connecting our lower and upper levels.
- Our theater has a viewing room that allows people with difficulty navigating stairs to view and participate in events.
- Accessible restrooms, including single-use restrooms, are located on both levels.
