Children & Youth Ministry
We warmly welcome you to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton!
We look forward to getting to know you and your children, deepening your relationship with our faith community and supporting your personal spiritual journey.
We want our child(ren) to feel known, cared for, respected, and loved here at UU Princeton. We want them to make friends, have fun, and feel celebrated for who they are. Here we treat our kids as people. We learn with one another. The adults guiding our program are committed to being trusted, caring role models and mentors of integrity who are also just as ready to be silly and playful. While what we impart to our child(ren) in our activities is valuable, the most important thing is for them to feel they are valued and from that come to understand that all beings are valued.
Our program focuses on:
- A heartfelt expression of and deep understanding of Unitarian Universalist values, identity and history
- Familiarity with the sources of our faith tradition: including direct experience of transcendent wonder, words and deed of prophetic people across cultures and traditions, wisdom from our world religions, Jewish lessons and Christian teachings, humanist perspectives honoring reason and science, and spiritual teachings of earth-centered and indigenous communities
- Exposure to spiritual practices you and your family might include as rituals and touch-points in your day-to-day life
- Exploring avenues in which to place our UU values into action through relationship building; anti-racism, anti-oppression, intersectional and environmental justice commitments; as well as volunteer opportunities and activities with local organizations and partners
We offer all newcomers a casual 20-30 minute orientation with me via Zoom to learn more about our commitment to our children and youth at UU Princeton and our programming.
Please contact me at jennifer@uuprinceton.org or (609) 924-1604 ext. 118 to set-up an appointment. We look forward to getting to know you!
