We, the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, are a progressive, multi faith community of independent thinkers and doers. With around 300 members located in central New Jersey, our congregation embraces and supports all ages.

We strive to make the world a better place and to reconnect to a life that is rich in meaning and purpose. To fulfill our mission, we are creating an inclusive space that nurtures the mind, inspires the spirit and connects us in care.

We are Unitarian Universalists

Unitarian Universalism is a forward-facing faith that demands no adherence to any specific belief in the divine.  Unitarian Universalists are joined together by Seven Principles with love at the center of faith.  As an inclusive, multi faith community we embrace diverse teachings, from Eastern and Western religions and philosophies, to humanist movements and modern revolutionaries. We use this inspiration to build spiritually connected communities of good will and good deeds, and to lead lives of intention, generosity and service.

We are a community in action

• We cultivate compassion, generosity and gratitude in our hearts.
• We develop spiritually through inner searching, learning from one another and from various sources of wisdom.
• We foster connection through our weekly gatherings, community celebrations and shared interest groups.

We are a democratic community

All ministry is shared ministry.  Our ministers, staff, and members all create and enliven what we offer each other and the world. Our core ministries are worship, adult and children’s faith development, social justice, pastoral care, community connection and community service. We welcome the new ideas, unique gifts, experiences and perspectives that each person may bring to serve and enrich these areas both inside and outside of our congregation.

We are an intentionally connected community

As an intentionally connected spiritual community, we have formulated a covenant that affirms a commitment to build loving, healthy, and trusting relationships within our congregation. We make these promises that help us relate more compassionately, and feel the power of our human connections:

• We listen attentively
• We express gratitude for the service of others
• We honor and support one another in our spiritual journeys and in times of joy, need, and struggle
• We embrace our diversity and the opportunity to share our different perspectives
• We address our disagreements directly and openly and see conflict through to an authentic resolution
• We serve our spiritual community with generosity and joy
• We strive to keep these promises, but when we fall short, we forgive ourselves and others and begin again in love
