Our Justice Work
We strive to lessen poverty, hunger and homelessness, to take action against racism, to celebrate and support the LGBTQ+ community, and to live our commitment to care for the Earth. We focus on the empowerment and the strengthening of communities.
To take action, UUCP uses these groups: the Social Justice Ministry, the Racial Justice Task Force, and partnerships with key organizations.
The Social Justice Ministry
Over a decade ago, our congregation made the historic decision to consistently devote a portion of the congregation’s operating budget to our Social Justice Ministry. Come to a Social Justice Ministry meeting and make a difference.
We also are part of the UU FaithAction NJ advocating for social and economic legislation that embodies our Unitarian Universalist values.
We welcome all congregants, newcomers, friends, and visitors and friends to attend our meetings and get involved.

The Racial Justice Task Force
The Task Force specifically addresses understanding and taking action against racism that exists within us as individuals, in our own religious organization, in our communities and the broader country. The Task Force meets the 3rd Tuesday evening each month. It works as a catalyst to identify and develop projects that we can undertake, some of which are one-time efforts and others that require on-going work.
